Members of the Board of Directors for National Independent Trust Company are:

D. Kyle McDonald
Chairman

Kyle serves as Chief Executive Officer of National Independent Trust Company. As Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for overall company management and business planning. Kyle graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in finance from Louisiana Tech University and received his law degree from LSU Law School. He is a graduate of the ABA National Graduate Trust School. He worked as an attorney with Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips in Baton Rouge. He then served as Vice President & Trust Officer with Ruston State Bank. As its founder, he has served as President and CEO of Argent Trust Company since May of 1990. Active in community and civic affairs, he has served on numerous boards and commissions. He currently serves as the Boys Golf Coach at Cedar Creek School the 2006 Class A state champions. He, his wife, Tisdale, and their four children are active members of Christ Community Church.

Gary Chumbley, President

Gary Chumbley serves as the President of National Independent Trust Company where he is responsible for overall company management and operations. Chumbley, a Certified Public Accountant, has served as Senior Vice President of Eagle Management and Trust Company in Houston Texas; President and Senior Trust Officer of Pinnacle Management and Trust Company in Houston, Texas; President and Senior Trust Officer of the Trust and Financial Services Division of Texas Community Bank in Dallas, Texas; and most recently, President and Senior Trust Officer of Guaranty Advisors in Dallas, Texas.

He obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from Indiana University and his master's in accounting from the University of Houston. Chumbley is a former First Lieutenant of the U.S. Army and is a graduate of Infantry Officer Candidate School.

Chumbley holds his Series 65 License, Life, Health and Fixed Annuities Insurance License, as well as his Series 7, Series 63 and Variable Annuities Licenses.

Justin D. Stets

Justin D. Stets is Managing Director of Carlson Capital Management. Justin graduated from St. Olaf College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Latin, Greek and Theology, and received his Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Harvard University in 1987. Prior to joining Carlson, Justin spent eleven years with Wells Fargo Bank in Minneapolis . In his capacity as Vice President and Manager at Wells Fargo, Justin managed a $150 million loan portfolio and brokered the sale of financial institutions. Justin's primary responsibilities within Carlson Capital Management include managing client relationships, overseeing of daily operations, philanthropic initiatives, and marketing.

Justin is a current board member and past president of the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities. He is also a board member of the
Northfield Community Action Center . He is a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Northfield, MN. Justin, his wife, Kristin, and their four children reside in Northfield, Minnesota.

John R. Williams

Director of Community and Governmental Relations,            

Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation

 

For 14 years, John Williams had a direct impact on the lives of children that have relied on the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home for residential care as he served as that institution’s Executive Director. 


After receiving a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern State University, He began his career as a teacher and assistant coach in Grant and East Baton Rouge parishes where he also led high school teams to two state basketball championships. He then joined Louisiana State University staff as the Counselor and Assistant Director of Testing in the Junior Division. In 1977, he was named Dean of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies at Louisiana Tech University. 


He served from 1982-1986 as the Director of Government Relations for the Louisiana Bankers Association.


In 2002, John retired from his position at the Children’s Home and returned to Baton Rouge where he serves as Director of Governmental Relations, Pennington Biomedical Foundation.


John is a founding director of Argent Financial Group, former member and past chair of the 1994 LSU Board of Supervisors, a past director BSA, former member Advisory Committee on Licensing of childcare facilities and a member of 1992 CABL Leadership Group.


He is the recipient of the Louisiana College Trustee’s Distinguished Service Award (1998) and has served as President of Ruston Kiwanis and a member of both the Monroe and Baton Rouge Rotary Clubs.

Will Carter

Will is a lawyer and financial columnist for State Journal, West Virginia's weekly statewide business publication.  He has degrees from Harvard University (B.A., M.A.), and New York University (J.D.)

Lucius McGehee Jr.

Lucius received his bachelor of science degree from Louisiana Tech University and has been serving in the banking and financial services industry since 1985.

As Institutional Services Manager, Lucius provides investment and custodial services for Louisiana political subdivision, charities and businesses including:

Corporate Trust Services - Argent provides comprehensive registrar and paying agent services for municipal bonds.

Reserve Fund Custodial Services - Argent  provides political subdivisions dividend and interest collection, trade settlements, performance reporting, on-demand distributions, comprehensive portfolio reporting including asset review, transactions detail and receipts and disbursements detail. Argent also provides arbitrage rebate compliance services for applicable bond issues.

Investment Management Services - Argent provides  Louisiana’s political subdivisions comprehensive investment management services ranging from short-term cash management to structured bond reserve funds management.

Kyle R. Boyd

Kyle R. Boyd is an investment professional with over 16 years experience. Previously, Kyle was a principal with the investment counsel firm Boys, Arnold and Co. where he served as a senior investment counselor and on the firm’s Investment Committee, handling many of that firm’s largest and most complicated portfolios. He also served as the President of Boys, Arnold Trust Company and was responsible for its planning, formation and management.

Kyle served as Senior Vice President and Chief Trust Officer for Merrill Lynch Trust Company where he served on the Investment Committee and supervised all trust company administration and management in its Greensboro, Chicago, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Columbus, Ohio and Washington D.C. offices, overseeing 1.7 billion dollars in trust assets. Prior to joining Merrill, he served as Vice –President and Regional Manager for Wachovia Bank of North Carolina’s Trust division in the Piedmont Triad Region.

Kyle is an attorney and is a member of the Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina Bar Associations. Kyle's responsibilities within the firm include managing high-net worth and institutional relationships and supervising the investment and fiduciary activities of the firm. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama and holds a law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, and the ABA’s National Trust School. Kyle serves on the professional advisory committee of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
